MindfulMuseum.Org Centering Mindfulness in Museums

Welcome the first newsletter of 2020, a little more belated than expected! But happy Valentines from us.

A quick update from us:

Recently we were really pleased to be able to present on a few issues of wellness and museums as guests to the Johns Hopkins University Museum Studies Speaker Series. We looked specifically at Recovery, Mindfulness, PTSD & Veterans in Archaeology, as case studies to demonstrate the breadth of Wellness work that can be done in/with museums.

You can watch it here.

A big Thanks!

We’d like to thank the Glenside Hospital Museum for spending an afternoon skill sharing with us, and discussing their object handling programme and their conceptual question “how is this kind” as a discussion prompt for considering the history of objects related to Psychiatric care.

If you're ever in the area we highly recommend checking out the museum.
